Platelet Rich Plasma

What is Platelet Rich Plasma?

The PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) procedure as the name itself suggest, consist on the extraction of a concentrated dose of platelet cells derived from the patient’s own blood.

Through a small needle ( in order to minimize our clients pain) the blood is carefully drawned and centrifugated, leading to the separation of its components into Red Blood Cells (RBC), Normal Plasma (PPP), and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

This isolated PRP is then administered via injection into the targeted facial area.

Our PRP skin rejuvenation treatment represents a safe procedure as it uses the natural potential of the patient’s own blood, accellerating the skin healing process, cellular growth, and collagen production.

The following list describes facial areas which can be targeted with PRP :

• Dark undereye circles

• Forehead wrinkles

• Fine lines around the eyes

• Acne

• Nasolabial folds

• Stimulate hair follicles

• Reduces the appearance of surgical scars

• Boosts collagen production

• Enhances moisture retention for healthier skin and hair

To maximise the benefits of PRP therapy, at Letizia Rose Aesthetics it is also paired with Microneedling free of charge, which is a minimally invasive treatment that causes micro-injuries to the skin, incouraging the skin to promote collagen and elastin and delivering better and long lasting results.
Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Is PRP painful?

At Letizia Rose Aesthetics we understand that pain can be a concern for our clients. To avoid disconfort The procedure is performed using fine needles to inject the PRP into the skin. While some patients may feel pain more than others during the procedure, we take steps to minimise any discomfort by using numbing cream  if necessary. Additionally, PRP treatment has a very short recovery period, and patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the procedure.

2. When can I expect to see results?

At Letizia Rose Aesthetics , we recommend a package of PRP treatments to achieve the best results. While some clients may see improvement after just one session, consistency is key to achieve optimal results. That is why the 3rd session is free of charge so we can encourage our clients to finish the course and achieve great results.

3. Am I good candidate for PRP?

While PRP is a popular choice at Letizia Rose Aesthetics, it may not be the most suitable option for you. In our clinic, we prioritise your safety and satisfaction, and we believe that a detailed consultation is crucial to determining if PRP is the right treatment for you. We will first evaluate your medical history and individual skin concerns to ensure that you are a good candidate for this treatment.

4. Following treatment, is the plasma wiped off or left on my skin?

After the PRP treatment, it is recommended to leave the solution on the face for a few hours to allow the growth factors to fully penetrate the skin. The solution will eventually be absorbed by the skin, so there is no need to wipe it off. However, if you find the solution to be uncomfortable or irritating, you may gently cleanse your face with lukewarm water after a few hours.

5. Are there any side effects?

Side effects are infrequent but may include bruising, swelling, and inflammation at the injection sites. Applying cold compresses can prevent swelling and bruising, and you should avoid touching the face or using make-up for at least six hours to prevent any infections.
